BEHIND THE BRUSH- GETTING TO KNOW VANESSA THE MAKEUP ARTIST
I have always believed in fate, it's how I met my husband, and how I met Vanessa. I just so happened to be scrolling through Facebook and I came across her Valentine's Day Makeup Promo Ad. I was hosting a Valentine's Day Boudoir event and wasn't looking for a makeup artist, but after viewing her page and speaking with her I knew Vanessa had to be apart of the event!
The event was wonderful, so much so that it made me decide to specialize in Boudoir Photography and redo my studio completely. Vanessa did an amazing job enhancing the ladies beauty with her makeup techniques. Every client raved about how beautiful the makeup was and how much they loved Vanessa. After the event Vanessa and I were able to get to know each other better, and we just clicked instantly. It was a no brainer that I had to bring her on as my exclusive Makeup artist for all of my sessions, not just on special events.
Vanessa is a freelance make up artist based out of Zeeland (so she's super close to me) area but she does travel as well. Enhancing beauty is something she is very passionate about because she perceives makeup as an art and values it tremendously. Which is why I knew she was the perfect lady to join my team of showing woman their true beauty in an artistic way. Vanessa loves doing Boudoir and Wedding make up because of the sheer romance involved in it. We love love around here, especially self-love.
When Vanessa is not busy creating art with me, she is a very busy lady! Vanessa is currently a college student perusing her degree in Business Administration and works a full time job as a server. One of the things that I love about Vanessa is what a role model she is to her six year old daughter. Obviously she is a go getter and a hard worker, but she is genuinely one of the nicest, most sincere, and loving ladies I have ever met.
I was so nervous the first time I met her, I was worried that we wouldn't get along. I was intimidated by her beauty, and was afraid we just wouldn't mesh very well together, but that's what I get for assuming, because I was soo wrong. We clicked instantly and over the past year she has become a very dear friend who means a lot to me!
I always get so excited when clients add Makeup to their session because that means we get girl time before their session! The makeup application time usually lasts about an hour, so we have time to get to know each other, jam to some music, have a mimosa or two, and laugh too much! It really is a good time. It really helps add to the clients experience because it's a wonderful way to kick off their day! If you have seen us together, you know what I am talking about, and if you haven't, I promise you will have so much fun with us, and there's a good chance that we all end up being friends after!
