Why Boudoir Photography?
Confidence is not something everyone has, and it's especially hard to be confident in today's society. This is why I am so passionate about Boudoir because I get to help woman gain confidence while empowering them.
I was a petite child until some traumatic child stuff happened and I just blew up!! So since I was 10 years old I have always been a bigger girl. Growing up with two older brothers was not easy, they would always call me names and make fun of me. The first picture of me is when I was 9 years old and the second one is of me at the age of 10.
In some weird way, I was able to use my families hurtful words to build myself up. I learned that nobody else was going to love me, so I had to love myself.
When I was 15 things really started to change for me and my confidence was through the roof!! You can see the confidence radiate through me in the picture below. I honestly felt like I was the greatest thing ever!
That confidence is what lead me to finding my husband. My husband and I met at a dance club, his table was next to ours, and he kept trying to get me to dance with his friend. Being that confidant chick that I was my response was, " heck no, I have weight and height limits and he does not meet them!" That really impressed my husband I guess, because we started dating the very next day and got married 6 months after that.
During my pregnancy with my son I gained fifty pounds, that and with having a mom bod just crushed my confidence over the years my weight fluctuated but I never lost the baby weight. I was so busy focusing on being the best mom and wife possible, I lost myself and my confidence.
I guess something just clicked in my head one day. Why do I care so much what other people think? The people who love me, love me for who I am, and all that I am, big or small. Knowing that, I bought a 2 piece bathing suit for our vow renewal trip to Siesta key Fl. That trip changed my whole outlook on everything.
After that trip I decided it was time to refocus everything in my life. I let go of things and people that no longer were aligned in what I want for my day to day life and my future. I started working on bettering myself and my craft. That is when I found Alaynna Marr and her group for boudoir photographers. I had done boudoir shoots over the years but this was different.
I did a Boho Boudoir event for Valentine's day and after it everything become so clear for me. Boudoir photography is where my passion was. Helping ladies get their groove back is one of the best feelings I have ever felt. Empowering woman and uplifting them is what I am called to do. I get goosebumps and sometimes tears in my eyes from the feedback that I hear from the ladies. Knowing how much I helped them makes me so incredibly happy. I have found my passion, and I have made it my mission to empower and uplift as many woman as possible, while helping them gain self-love and confidence one sexy photo shoot at a time.
