The Mr behind the Mrs
Today is my 18th wedding anniversary with my wonderful husband Daniel, aka Mr. Crystalized Photography.
Why Mr. Crystalized Photography and not just Daniel?
Because without him there would be no Crystalized Photography.
If it was not for his support for all my crazy ideas, his faith in me, and his unwavering love, there is no way I could be doing what I am doing without him.
Daniel is the partner that you don't hear much about, but he is always in the background doing so much.
I wanted to take this opportunity to share our story, and to introduce the world to Mr. Crystalized Photography.
Everyone Meet Daniel, my wonderful Husband, Mr. Crystalized Photography
Meant To Be
"In the tapestry of destiny
we were entwined,
As soulmates our hearts forever aligned.
He was made for me,
a perfect match divine,
Our love written in the stars,
destined to shine.
Fate's hand guided us,
brought us together,
A cosmic connection,
an unbreakable tether.
Through trails and storms,
we stood strong,
No force can break us,
our love sings its song.
I am the moon,
he is my guiding star,
Together we soar,
forever afar.
In the vastness of the sky,
we're meant to be,
Bound by love's embrace,
forever free.
Our souls dance in celestial harmony,
A love that transcends,
eternally.
With him,
I've found my purpose,
my truth,
He's my soulmate,
my love,
my eternal youth."

Our Vow Renewal for our 15th Wedding Anniversary in Siesta Key Florida
Daniel and I have a great love story and I really love telling it, because it is almost unbelievable.
I was only 18 when we met, I had so many plans and settling down was not one of them!
I am a big believer in fate and that everything happens for a reason. I am also a big believer in manifesting and I can honestly say that I manifested Daniel!!
I always used to say "I want a hot sweet Mexican" so much so my step-mom made me t-shirt for my birthday that said it in English on the front and Spanish on the back!!! HAHAHA I loved the shirt!! So when I say I manifested Daniel, it's true, all the times I said I wanted a hot sweet Mexican, the universe listened and sent me Daniel.
I actually had a date with some random guy the night we met but it was my friends 21st birthday and they needed a designated driver, so I ditched my date (girl code) that night and went to the Club in Grand Rapids with my friends.
It just so happened that Daniel and his group of friends was at the table next to us, and I made the first move by talking to them first. I needed to use the ash tray on their table, you can tell this was a long time ago because this was back when you could smoke indoors.
We chatted over the course of the night but nothing to crazy. I was about to leave because my friends were ready to go when Daniel finally asked me to dance. I hesitated and said no because we were leaving, but he grabbed my hand and took me to the dance floor.
Instantly as we hit the floor and he started dancing, I was impressed!! WOW here's this hot Mexican who can dance!! But when he kissed me, it really shocked me. I don't normally kiss strangers, so it was a pretty big deal for me. We exchanged numbers and we parted ways.
The next morning, he called me super early, and I was still sleeping, we arranged a date for later that night. He picked me up later and took me to his friend's house party. The entire night everyone kept calling me "Dan the man's Girlfriend" and when I told him about it, he said "well you are, aren't you?", and I said "ok". And that is how we started dating.
It was about a month after we met, 4 days before Christmas when our story really started!
While he was at work, I took a pregnancy test, and guess what, it was positive, we were pregnant! He had no idea, but he had his own secret of his own that day.
After he got out of work, he went to pick up my engagement ring because he was planning on proposing to me on Christmas Day at my mother's house in front of my family.
Well, that is what he planned.
When he got home and I shared my news, he was so overcome with joy that he got down on one knee and proposed to me right then and there.
Daniel's mom and brother were there playing the guitar and signing in the background.
A pregnancy and an engagement in the same day, about 5 weeks after we met.
I told you; our story is almost unbelievable.
A picture after we revealed our news to each other!!
We didn't want to wait to be married, so we married 5 months later on May 9th.
We had a courthouse wedding and a small reception in Zeeland.
I remember being so scared walking up to the courthouse. I was so scared I couldn't even go up to him. I made him go in without me to check us in because I was freaking out.
I remember my mom and my best friend Andrea telling me it was ok if I wanted to leave, that it wasn't too late to run away! HAHA
I wasn't scared of marrying him, in fact, I was not scared or nervous at all about that, even though to this day I am still a little bit of a commitment-phobe.
I knew that Daniel was my soulmate, I knew that we were meant to be together. I knew the universe sent him to me. I knew that he was my reward for all the struggles and hardships I had faced in my life. I knew he was the was my future.
I was more nervous about what everyone else was going to think about me being so dressed up in a courthouse. This was back before the new courthouse was made Downtown Holland, so it was super tiny, and it was standing room only in the lobby until they call you back, and everyone is just standing there staring at you.
But the moment that I walked in and our eyes met, our hands touched, everything and everyone faded away, as if they weren't there.
They didn't exist in that moment, because it was about us.
Him and I taking a monumental step in our young lives.
It was about joining our worlds and souls together.
It was the moment we stopped being two and became one.
It was that day when I knew I would never be alone again.
My entire life I have felt alone, which helped shape me into the strong independent lady boss you all know and love these days!
So, when I met Daniel, I honestly felt like the universe sent him to me because I finally was getting what I deserved after all the hardships I faced. Long story short, I had a pretty messed up childhood but getting to meet my soulmate at such a young age was my reward and for the very first time in my life, I felt unconditional love.
We got married when I was only 18, and with this being our 18th wedding anniversary it means I have officially spent half of my life being married to the greatest love I have ever known.
What a blessing to be able to have that constant love and partner to venture through life with.
What an honor to raise our son together and give him the life neither of us had.
What a gift to have someone to weather the storms with, and to be able to uplift each other when we need it.
What a miracle to have found my partner in crime, my adventure buddy, my best friend at such a young age, to marry so quickly, and to make it this far.
And with any luck, this is just the first of many chapters of our love story.
